As a researcher and adviser I work on linking practical conservation experience and applied multidisciplinary conservation-research with critical social theory in support of management and policy solutions.My academic work includes research and teaching at the Forest and Nature Conservation Policy group at Wageningen University. My peer reviewed work offers historical, political and ontological perspectives on the development of conservation management and governance. I recently published an edited volume bringing together 50+ authors on the cultural and spiritual significance of nature in protected areas management, governance and policy.My advisory work focuses conservation NGOs, governments and environmental conventions. As initiator, chair or programme coordinator I support non-profit initiatives that create social and environmental change. I offer continued strategic support and assistance with network coordination, project acquisition and management, fund raising, evaluation and international symposia and workshops.
