As a Team Manager Engineering I am a member of the Departement Team. Each Team Manager has it's own group of Lead Engineers, Senior Engineers and Engineers with the same discipline. My group has more than one discipline, being Construction/ bodywork; Exterior outfitting; Pneumatics and Preservation System.My job was to support and develop the team to be succesfull members of the project teams, working on the running projects of refitting the trains. During my time here I comitted myself to more cooperation, development of personal leadership and knowledge. With the group we worked on our skills, but also on the 'group feeling', which is very much needed when everybody works on different projects or sub projects.

Damen services reorganized into a matrix organization, divided in Sales Areas and Service Lines. I work for te line 'Service Calls', where we handle warranty and related commercial aquisition. Within the line I work on incoming 'Calls', facilitating the Project Engineers in Area 1: 'Benelux' and Area 2: 'North, West and South Europe'. And implementing the improvements on scheduling, uniform working procedures, efficiency and the feedback loop to the New Building process.

Interim job at the Offshore and Transport department. In the project team for the Survey Vessel 53 meters for Fugro. In close cooperation with the site support team in Galatz. Introduced Visual Management and more structure in the Team to remain a reliable party in the internal supply chain.Support the team in technical issues

During this period I had a team of Asistant Projectmanagers, Constructors and Drawsman. Together we kept track of the standard updates of all High Speed Craft below 24m Rule Length. From these standards the yardnumbers were processed. 2010 I lead the team of engineers who engineered the first Twin Axe 2610. After this first one Thijs Schepman started a new dedicated team for these vessels.Vessels in my portfolio remained: Stan Tenders, Stan Pilots, cooperation in the composite Pilot and the design of the SAR for the KNRM, just before I went to South Africa (end 2012) for half a year.My focus in the team is a good cooperation, based on awareness of eachothers strengths and weaknesses. Very aware of the role we fullfill within the organisation and a clear communication from this role. Clear and honest to prevent surprises.

Portfolio consists of high speed vessels smaller than 24m Rule Length. Vessels of aluminium steel and composites, build on stock and on different yards, mainly abroad. Currernt focus mainly on knowledge skills and quality, due to the growth of the team.

Als auditor deed ik audits bij verschillende afdelingen binnen Damen. Onderdeel was procesverbeteringen herkennen en hier advies over uitbrengen aan de stuurgroep. In deze periode heb ik het voorrecht gehad om ook de stuurgroep van het kwaliteit management te auditeren.

In my job I am keeping up and improving the standard for the 42 meter Patrol Vessels and the Stan Tender range. 3D modelling in Rhinoceros to make a good impression of the technical layout of the ship. Thereby calculation of the construction according rules and regulations of the classification society. Drawing management and supervising of draughtsmen / constructors.

In my function I design and calculate ship structures according BV-Rules. Also assisting in the complete engineering of the shipbuilding of several High Speed Crafts.

Trainee at the Research department to get experience in working with Femap, a program to calculate constructions using the finite element method. In this period I calculated the fatique of a 35 m Patrol vessel and various construction details on strength.

I worked on my graduation project, designing a coastal chemical tanker.
