Often when I look at the world around me, I do not like what I see, to be honest. Following the news, politics, and it seems we are going nowhere. A grim view, that might stop anyone in his tracks. Why would one even bother? One must be crazy to even try to make a difference........And yes, I am that crazy! Because when I take a second look, I do see that so many people are trying to improve our society, our world. Trying to be the change. They inspire me. I want to work with them. I am one of them. I am a ‘Crazy One’, sometimes a misfit, sometimes a rebel and for sure I do not relate to the status quo. I don’t think I am a genius, but I do know how to make a difference and how to support others in doing so. I have found several ways to do so. In essence it all comes down to one thing. When there is a good idea, that can bring a positive difference to the world, to our society, then I love to turn it into a vision, a strategy and into a concrete plan of action. Which includes to find the funding. “To make the impossible possible”.Therefor I work as a strategic adviser for those with a ‘good idea’. And as a trainer on organisational development, social cohesion and diversity. For instance for Emancipator.Furthermore I am the CEO of the Mazi Foundation, where we develop our own projects. As a board member of the BeTheChange@Lesbos foundation I strive to bring humanity to refugees in Europe. Mostly by partnering with other NGOs and to advise them on their strategy and operations and by joint-pilot project. On a local level I strive to bring people and organisations together around important challenges. On the question how we should raise our kids together. How we can work on the social cohesion and how we can celebrate our diversity. As a founding member of the Alle Kleuren (All Colours) Foundation and as the coordinator of the ‘Vreedzame Wijk Amsterdam Oost'.
