Selected to join a highly competitive cohort to learn and practice the nonviolent political philosophy of the Civil Rights Movement. The program is designed to examine Lewis’s nonviolent philosophy and its principles and strategies, as well as identify their applicability to modern movements and current issues. Completed an oral history project of a current civil right leader.

As the first Black Student Body President I advocated for the needs of 52,000+ students in the University of Nebraska Systems by fostering mental health awareness, combating sexual misconduct, and promoting racial equity.

Provided exceptional administrative support to immigration attorneys and legal staff while maintaining accurate and organized client files, ensuring that all relevant documents and records were up-to-date and easily accessible, contributing to smooth case handling and preparation. Demonstrated a strong commitment to upholding confidentiality and ethical standards in all interactions with clients and sensitive legal matters.

I accomplished impactful community advocacy by serving as a liaison between the Black student community and government officials, university administration, and the community. Spearheaded the BSU Care Bag program with a $34,500+ budget, benefiting Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities impacted by the pandemic. Devoted over 100+ volunteer hours, assisting 300+ Lincoln and Omaha families. Successfully advocated for racial justice resulting in the creation of an Journey on Anti-Racism initiative at UNL.

I spent my summer of 2019 studying in Meknes, Morocco taking courses in French, and Global Development. During my duration in Meknes, I lived with a host family and spoke exclusively French. I was also exposed to Moroccan politics and how they have historically interacted with the rest of the world. This sparked my interest in international law related to politics.

Developed an eight-month curriculum on African history and heritage to be implemented at a primary school in Lagos, Nigeria, promoting cultural awareness and appreciation among students.This curriculum encompasses diverse aspects of African history, including ancient civilizations, pre-colonial societies, influential African leaders, and significant cultural contributions to the world.
