Editorial SystemThe editorial system is the core system which TVN rely on a daily basis. It’s used in all aspects of the Business. It’s a custom built CMS for managing and distributing horse racing information.- Upgraded data publishing features to support publishing of data to the racing network site and other 3rd party locations- Moved system onto new Virtualized hardware resulting in improved performance and overall system stability- Development/Improvement of Adobe InDesign templates and XML data files used to produce the print publications.- Upgraded/created new web services to provide racing information for the TVN onscreen graphics.- Created a way to generate weekly racing network newsletter, and have this sent out with a single click of a button using the PHP List mailing application.- Upgrading all feature to use Spring and HibernateRacing NetworkA joint venture project between TVN and Telstra, the site averages around 25 million page views a year and 1.2 million unique visitors. My role on the project as the TVN technical contact involves:- Ensuring racing information is delivered from the TVN editorial system- Creation of various promotional and major race preview pages- Liaising with external developers as required.Other applications/projects- Migrated and virtualized public web server infrastructure, resulting in increased website traffic and improved web site uptime- Maintaining the Winning Post website, including upgrading it to use Spring and hibernate- Maintaining the TVN corporate website- Developed jockey silk image API which allows 3rd party websites such as Racing Victoria and Sports Bet to display the TVN created jockey silk images.- Oracle Database Administration- Management of Linux servers running CentOS, Apache and tomcat
