I was responsible for automating the customer onboarding process for an industry partner, using a combination of AWS Textract, web browser automation using Python Selenium, and automatic cross-checks of relevant documents. This streamlined the onboarding process and improved efficiency and accuracy for our partner.In addition to my automation work, I also conducted research to improve the readability of driving licenses, utilizing open-source OCR engines. I employed a variety of data structures and algorithm techniques, including regular expressions, to parse through the raw data extracted by Textract and make it ready to be persisted in a database.To extract relevant information from the unstructured data outputted by Textract, I developed Python scripts that enabled us to quickly and efficiently extract the necessary data. I also explored better techniques and algorithms to reduce noisy backgrounds found in ID cards, using methods such as color manipulation to improve data accuracy and readability.Through my contributions in these areas, I was able to make a significant impact on the research process and contribute to the success of the project.
