Technical writing contract project. Batzel Engineering, Inc. was contracted by Exxon Neftegas Limited (ENL) to perform cleaning tests on a 16” pipe from Sakhalin 1 to determine an effective configuration of pig and brushes for complete cleaning of known defects in the pipe wall. Participated in design and execution of testing of current pipeline pigging configuration, and wrote proposal for contract to design an effective configuration. Documented test results, compiled data, produced final report of methodology and results. Wrote the document describing recommended final ongoing pipeline cleaning procedures with step-by-step instructions for configuring, assembling, and maintaining pigs for regular cleaning of their pipeline.

Took over for departing sysadmin just before office move. Managed multiple AWS accounts with aws cli tools and jq to parse json. Quickly implemented aws images as minimal daily backups. Collected access keys, began restricting IAM administrative permissions. Installed AlertLogic’s LogManager tool and initiated their daily log review service around access controls. Began scripting using AWS’s Ruby SDK. Minor changes on Cisco ASA, particularly around crypto settings for VPN tunnels into AWS Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs). Linux AD integration.
