I currently work as an auditor in the healthcare assurance department of HORNE, LLP. We specialize in providing assurance, review, & consulting services to healthcare entities such as hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, retirement facilities, and companies providing pharmacy services. These organizations vary in type, requiring extensive knowledge and experience regarding not-for-profits, governmental entities as well as for-profits. My work involves communicating with clients, developing relationships, managing expectations and providing results in a timely fashion. As a manager I oversee the execution of an audit from the planning phase, to developing the budget, addressing issues in the field, as well as reviewing the staff's work. While in the field I am required to delegate and assign tasks, provide on the job training and have the necessary knowledge and experience to answer immediate questions or concerns. Once removed from the field, I am the immediate resource for questions regarding a client, whether they be in regards to their internal controls, financial processes or possible complications that might arise. I also assist the job's partner in completing any outstanding work, see to the production of any required reports and file all necessary documentation.I have considerable experience consulting on the Provider Relief Funds ("PRF") and the HRSA Reporting Portal. I am currently completing our first round of Single Audits of those funds as required by Federal Government.
