Joined a large Belgian retail family group belonging to French retail tycoon “Pierre Delhaize” to oversee its sourcing and distribution activities in China and Hong Kong for Delcom SA first and then for Vandergeeten Food distribution later.# Set up the Shenzhen representative office of Delcom SA acting as the buying office of consumers electronics for a large belgian importer of consumer electronics from China part of the European Alliance "UNITED Electronics" # Develop new product lines and found new suppliers in China.# Improved the Quality Control by developing in house technical team, factory audits and pre shipment inspections.# Due to reorganization in the Belgian head office, Delcom Shenzhen Rep office was closed but stayed with the group to take charge of another activity of the group in China.

- After setting up the first JV company of Carrefour in Company as development manager I decided to take an operational function in-store as the Fresh Fruits and Vegetable Dept Chief for the first Carrefour Hypermarket Chain in shanghai. - Set up and found the key suppliers for Fresh vegetables and fruits within whole china and set up one of the first actual vegetables and fruits department in a supermarket in China as opposed to traditional wet markets.

- Was the first expatriate manager and staff selected and sent to China to be in charge of the preparation work to set up the first Carrefour store in China.- Conducted preliminary market study, search for potential sites, reviewed and negotiated the JV company terms with potential partners and the Shanghai government.- Assisted General Manager for the opening of the first Carrefour store in Shanghai- Participated in the development of stores in Beijing and Guangzhou.

Training in-store for 6 months in Taipei and then was sent to Guangzhou and Shanghai as first staff in China for carrefour to prepare the development of the first foreign chain of hypermarket store in China.
