Bay Area Young Positives (BAY Positives) is a non profit social services agency that is unique in delivering youth focused HIV/AIDS services in San Francisco. For 20 years, Bay Positives has responded to the HIV/AIDS epidemic by delivering an array of member services designed and staffed by young people with HIV. BAY Positives offers youth a safe haven in which they can socialize, build community with healthy peer norms, change attitudes, learn skills and receive services to meet their particular needs. Members are also referred and linked to treatment and other programming designed to address all the co-factors associated with HIV transmission. Co–factors concerning youth and HIV/AIDS are, but are not limited to, injection drug use, homelessness, impulsive behavior, lack of accurate knowledge of HIV, and unmet mental health needs.
