DDS (San Carlos U) Cert Endo (Temple U) NZREX ABE Diplomate MRACDS (Endo)After so many years as an Endodontist I have come to constantly see my work through the light of scientific knowledge and clinical experience. To date, I'm still humbled by the realisation of how much I still don't know and how much I have yet to learn.I graduated from San Carlos University in Guatemala City obtaining a Doctor in Dental Surgery degree in 1978. Shortly after, I completed a Diploma in Oral Pathology and Oral Medicine prior to becoming an Endodontist in 1983, when I completed my postgraduate training in Endodontology at Temple University in Philadelphia. A few years later I was appointed Professor and Director of the Endodontic Department at the School of Dentistry at Francisco Marroquin University in Guatemala City, a position which he held until my move to the Australasian region in 1998. I am an active member of the American Association of Endodontists and a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics (Board Certified). I have been a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland and a Past President of the Australian Society of Endodontology, Queensland branch. I have had the privilege to lecture in several continents and have published in scientific journals. My special interests lie in endodontic diagnosis and in surgical endodontics.I am a registered specialist Endodontist in New Zealand and Queensland and joined the endodontic Group in 2002. I am fluent Spanish and English and also able to communicate with Italian and Portuguese speaking patients. I thoroughly enjoy outdoor physical activity, am a dedicated long distance runner, play competitive squash and am a keen scuba diver.Recently I have been awarded Life Membership by the American Association of Endodontists.
