I work on making your Feed engaging, delightful and valuable. Our products drive the discovery of content, people and other important parts of the economic graph. And more broadly, I am focused on helping accelerate product innovation within our Flagship app so we can bring even more value to our members and customers quicker. I lead a full stack team of 170+ engineers distributed across the Bay Area, Bellevue, NYC and other remote locations working on our Search, Profile and Messaging experiences on Flagship. Hundreds of millions of members use our products to tell their professional stories, talk to their network, find professional contacts and discover other relevant parts of the economic graph. I also led the launch of the Bellevue LinkedIn site in the Seattle area, which in a few months has grown to over 100 employees. Leading Profile Engineering under Flagship. Our members are the heartbeat of our social network and form the very basis of the LinkedIn Economic Graph. Profile's goal is to enable members to curate and tell a compelling professional story that will help them achieve their professional goals. You are likely reading this on our flagship product, the Profile, but over the past year, our charter also included other areas related to member identity like Who Viewed My Profile & Search Appearances.I also co-founded and led engineering for Equity, a company-wide priority focused on ensuring that the foundations of our platform drive equitable economic opportunity for all our members. Equity Foundations had a cross-functional team of 100+ working to ensure that LinkedIn provided equal talent access to equal opportunity by creating the tools, the processes and the mitigation strategies needed to address bias across the entire stack, particularly in AI and our product experiences.Last but not least, I spent a considerable amount of time hiring and growing talent, ICs and managers, alike. This included interviewing candidates and chairing hiring committees for engineers and managers. As someone who had greatly benefited from mentorship, helping other grow had always been a real passion, and this passion took me on a highly rewarding journey where I had the opportunity to personally mentor other engineers and leaders and more recently bring the first ever self-service mentorship program to our entire Consumer Engineering org of 1200+.

If you are reading this, you already have some good context on what I do. I work with a talented group of engineers on making sure your LinkedIn profile is working for you. Currently, I lead a full stack team of 50+, working on both the profile back end infrastructure and the member experiences on Web, Android and iOS. Besides the profile, my team is responsible for products like Who Viewed My Profile and Search Appearances. We also built and launched Skills Assessments. From April-Aug 2019, I also served as the first owner for the flagship web experience (www.linkedin.com). My responsibilities included working with several product pillar teams, the infra and productivity teams on ensuring that our website remains healthy and is able to operate and evolve at scale. Based on learnings from this effort, I also helped chart out a sustainable app ownership model for our flagship app on the remaining platforms (iOS, Android & API).

I am part of the LinkedIn Profile engineering team and work with a team of great engineers on making the profile a delightful and functional member experience. In the past, my team has focused on profile editing and in particular features that give members guidance on what to add to their profile by supplying them with relevant and intelligent suggestions. We do full stack development and build products on web, Android & iOS.August 2017 onwards, my responsibilities also include managing the Identity Platforms team which, among other things, is responsible for the back end system that stores and serves LinkedIn's 500 million+ member profiles.

As part of Core Engineering then Profile Engineering, I • Acted as the tech lead for the Guided/Personalized/Suggested (GPS) edits team during the development of the brand new and improved LinkedIn app (Project Voyager)• Acted as API lead for Search, GPS & Messaging during Project Voyager• Helped start and acted as a tech lead for Add To Profile, which built profile edit flows that were used by partners like universities and certificate authorities to suggest edits to LinkedIn members in their programs.• Designed and implemented People With Similar Positions To You• Designed and implemented Site wide promotions with action based cool-offs• Worked on making LinkedIn Identity services highly available from multiple data centers• Participated in the design and implementation of other features in the larger Profile Ecosystem

Co-founded ArifSoft and built mobile and web solutions for Diaspora communities in multiple verticals including event/news aggregation, music and social networking. Our flagship product ArifZefen is the pre-eminent music app for the Ethiopian community and has been downloaded over 2M times on iOS and Android.Our company was invited to present at Secretary Clinton’s Global Diaspora Forum in Washington, DC where we shared our vision for buiding mobile products that can serve as a hub for the African diaspora at large.

- Led a team of engineers in delivering key product milestones for a marketing automation platform - Oversaw the design of a number of key features (print templates, phrase lookups with variable insertion, etc)- Designed and implemented an extensible jobs framework for facilitating the definition and execution of business tasks in the platform- Drove the effort to move all the creative content that was stored on local machines to Amazon S3 for better performance, availability & fault tolerance.

- As the second engineer, I played a critical role in transitioning the product from a set of ad hoc services to a consolidated marketing platform- Designed and implemented some of the critical tools and features on the platform (eg. campaign migrations, data mappings)- Integrated the marketing platform with some best of breed third party solutions like Amazon Web Services & Saleforce CRM- Worked very closely with some of our biggest customers to make sure that they were getting the most value out of our products

- Designed and developed a healthcare financials protocol translator for transforming X12 claim messages into HL7 claim records - Analyzed the performance of our application's implementation of the core persistence technology (BC4J) and explored alternatives - Executed performance analysis for the product and made recommendations for improved performance - Collaborated with Sun Microsystems in benchmarking Healthcare Financial applications

- Helped develop the messaging module of the open source ArsDigita Community System (ACS)- Developed automated test cases using UI test tools from Rational Software- Worked on a three people team on deploying ACS as the main registration and class management tool for the MIT Sloan School of Business- Came back part time after the first internship to continue development on the Sloan deployment during the school year
