I will be conducting field and lab work with the Commercial Shellfish Aquaculture Lab & Team while creating outreach materials for social media accounts such as the Virginia Oyster Trail and Big Island Aquaculture. I will be presenting my experience this summer at a VA Sea Grant Conference in the fall.

I hand make jewelry: beaded crochet necklaces, bracelets anklets, glasses chains, rings, and earrings. I also sell fabric accessories such as scrunchies, keychains, hair/pet bandanas, and lanyards.

Through the Institute for Integrative Conservation, I am thrilled to partner with Conservation International to create a story map on ArcGIS about the Eastern Tropical Pacific Seascape. I am working with fellow student to convey the biodiversity and cultural richness of the vast area the seascape covers, along with associated benefits. This requires communication across a variety of departments and developing GIS maps.

As a Conservation Specialist, I worked across the four Chesapeake Bay Reserve sectors (Research and Monitoring, Environmental Education, Coastal Training, and Stewardship) to complete field research projects, educate students K-12 about marine science, create social media posts, and publish a story map.
