Clinical Researcher
Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States
As a Public Health Clinical Researcher, I worked on a CDC-funded study (M-FIVE) that aimed to conduct active surveillance of individuals with medically-attended acute respiratory illness. My tasks included patient enrollment where I have valuable experience working with underrepresented demographical populations and I conduct follow-ups and chart data for the study. Additionally, I am responsible for delivering nasal swabs and home blood kits around southeastern Michigan, preparing testing kits, conducting environmental sampling for COVID-19 and influenza flu in local daycares, and assisting with laboratory research tasks such as prepping media samples of bacteria specimens and collecting blood from participants in the phlebotomy lab.We partnered with 12 ambulatory clinics across southeast Michigan to collect data on viral illnesses. Along with the CDC, our team collected self-swabs and clinical data to evaluate the epidemiology, clinical characteristics, and risk factors for COVID-19 across the US.
