About Ben Block Jones Ii

Ben Jones is a Jackson native and joined the MDOT Legal Division as a Law Clerk in 2007. Mr. Jones has experience representing a variety of organizations and individuals in complex engagements before the Internal Revenue Service and foreign tax administration authorities on a variety of issues ranging from VAT point-of-entry for digital downloadable products and services and EU tariffs and customs to blocker corporation services to foreign nonresident asset registration and income/sales tax audit defense. Mr. Jones' current work focuses on regulatory affairs, public finance and accounting, immigration law, emergency management, litigation (e-discovery) and special projects. Prior to joining the Mississippi Office of Attorney General at the Department of Transportation, Mr. Jones worked with senior members of Forman Perry Watkins Krutz & Tardy in Jackson. At Forman Perry, Mr. Jones' work focused on local and multi-state litigation and trial preparation representing several Fortune 500 defendants in asbestos and silica cases. Mr. Jones joined Forman Perry following the success and liquidation of his interest in a local accounting firm.
