I am obsessed with the idea of building a climate-positive and low carbon future. Holding a master's degree in building science from Toronto Metropolitan University, I have dedicated myself to decarbonizing the built environment through research, communication, and collaboration. It took me awhile to get here. After the requisite time spent working in restaurants through school and beyond, working on farms took me out to the East Coast. In Halifax, I gained experience in both heritage carpentry and high-performance building. Driven by a desire to deepen my knowledge, I moved to Toronto to pursue graduate studies. My background in farming instilled in me a love for the earth. This passion drives my research on how to incorporate growing, carbon-storing materials into building practices. As a co-founder of the Toronto Circularity Network, I work towards connecting people in order to advance sustainable practices in the circular built environment, both locally and globally.I want to help revolutionize the way we build, promoting equality while reshaping our built environment into an inclusive, secure, affordable-for-all, carbon-absorbing, and regenerative system that harmonizes with the natural world.
