Started part time in November 2017, switched to full time April 2021. After years of following the Electric Vehicle industry, I was either going to get a brain aneurysm reading all the misinformation out there or do something about it. I specialize in all things Tesla, but write about all the other OEMs and the business side of the energy transition, including renewables and energy storage. I am also the host and editor of our weekly podcast with 160+ episodes aired.

Took on the Agile role of Product Owner for a very smart and dedicated group of network engineers, supporting Central Europe, Middle East and some African Upstream sites. I acted as the link between Project Managers, local IT staff and our engineering team. I helped prioritize work and had the final say in what makes the cut for the next 3 months.

I lead a team of 17 Application Support Analysts located in 5 cities around the world at Exxon's IT department. Our team develops, implements and supports systems for the Chemicals, Lubes and other Downstream business units like warehouses, plants and refineries across the globe. The main area is the SAP MM module (warehouse management, product costing, manufacturing), but we also support a few non-SAP applications.

On March 1st 2016 I officially took over from our manager and became responsible for software licensing globally. My team went from 106 to 14 in the first 12 months of the job as we shifted work to the Managed Service Provider (MSP) in India. I was also responsible for the activities of the 120 strong MSP workforce, who now perform the end to end licensing work our in-house teams (my previous teams) used to do before outsourcing. I was responsible for my department's budget, the staff, software compliance & audits, and the software delivery service to our employees worldwide. My main task since taking on the role was to ensure continuous operations and uninterrupted delivery of our 120k SW requests per year while overseeing the outsourcing of our work and dealing with planned and unplanned attrition due to these challenges.

Beside keeping my Compliance team and all my direct reports, I took over the operational side of the work of our Manager. At this point 4 Supervisors and altogether a team of 106 reported to me. This was also the time when our outsourcing activities started so the main challenge was to keep operations smooth, customers happy while we were busy transitioning our work, training the sourced team and reassigning or terminating most of our heritage associates.

Managing 6 direct reports in Hungary, 2 in the US, 1 in Malaysia, 7 in Brazil. I was responsible for all government and vendor initiated external, as well as internal software licensing audits globally. My team also delivered foundational data for automations and analysts, was responsible for IT projects, license retirements, divestitures and reconciliations.

Working on the delivery of an integrated asset management tool to be used globally. Writing up business requirements, process flows, working with developers, testing, data migration, writing training materials, training users. I designed or lead the design on all key automations and features, resulting in significant workforce savings; decreasing customer delivery time by 25%; and reclaiming several millions of dollars worth of unused licenses from thousands of end users in the first full year of operations.
