In my current position as a Designer at Shepley Bulfinch, my primary responsibilities involve translating design concepts into tangible architectural solutions. I lead the internal production of architectural drawings, maintain crucial client relationships, mentor our in-house team, and coordinate with consultants. Role DescriptionAs a Project Designer, I'm responsible for generating and developing outstanding design solutions for our Healthcare studio. I collaborate with fellow designers to align our work with the firm's design and brand objectives. I serve as an advocate for sustainable design techniques and metrics recording. My role involves creating multiple solutions for client-driven programs and seeking input and critique from design leaders and peers. Given the fast-paced and critical nature of the creative process, I approach my work with creativity, energy, and flexibility.Key Responsibilities Include:-Collaborating with the studio to maintain design excellence, guided by the Studio Design Director's direction.-Demonstrating expertise in resources and materials, understanding their application in our projects.-Engaging in early consultant meetings and comprehending the coordination required between disciplines.-Participating in consultant meetings during the schematic design (SD) and design development (DD) phases to realize design intent.-Staying informed about relevant codes impacting design decisions and ensuring code compliance in design work in collaboration with the Studio Design Director.-Fostering familiarity with the major building material technologies we use and recommending new and innovative systems regularly.-Attending client meetings and potentially presenting our work.
