I was centralized under a newly created structure for the pending sale of the company's Portland-based operations. My focus was to oversee the transactional / operations accounting staff companywide under the new structure, direct receivership processes, prepare due diligence analysis for potential buyers, as well as manage day-to-day transactional processes, system and reporting controls, internal controls and ME close. Staff supervision during significant change and uncertainty working through receivership and multiple private equity first round bids.

I was decentralized back to the Hardwood Division during an organizational restructure necessary to position various divisions to be sold. I managed accounting and finance functions for a $200m division with reload facilities across the country, international operations and manufacturing joint ventures. Staff supervision including various locations, keeping people motivated and productive in an extremely stressful environment due to financial difficulty, rumors and uncertainty.

I was selected for another newly created position to lead and centralize all of the Portland sponsored divisions’ accounting responsibilities in order to develop consistent accounting procedures and improve financial reporting and comparability. I worked closely with division management to ensure confidence and trust with centralized functions, understanding both the overall business needs as well as each division’s needs. I supervised a staff of three processing A/P, expense reports, reconciliations, accruals, reserves, reporting, system administration, commission adjustments and commission calculations.• Gained organizational trust as an open and transparent leader. • Revamped multiple spreadsheets and reports into one consistent format eliminating the need for others to synthesize data.• Facilitated communications between divisions in order to understand any updates, procedure changes as well as meet key timelines.

While winding down the companywide ERP system conversion, I was redeployed back to the Hardwood Division. I was responsible for supporting the division’s finance and accounting functions as well as system administration. This included a significant amount of effort with process and training, both development and reinforcement, after a newly implemented ERP system including multiple locations, international transactions, and manufacturing joint ventures. I managed a staff of six including an A/P specialist, an inventory specialist, an accounting manager with 15 direct reports and three offsite accounting managers with 10 direct reports. • Established several new accounting procedures and lead a successful transition including a diverse set of programs on a new system while continuing to meet business demands in a fast-paced environment.• Improved physical inventory planning for >$30 million in various locations across the country.

This was another newly created position. I was selected to participate on the corporate implementation team managing a companywide (>$1B in revenue) ERP system conversion project.• Also selected to be the project lead for the Hardwood Division's conversion (>$200m in revenue) including domestic wholesale, import, export, distribution and manufacturing operations in multiple locations. This was completed on time with no negative business impacts.• Became the team's accounting expert, knowledgeable with the chart of accounts, general ledger, system default posting, financial statements, reporting structures and system security controls in addition to operational processes.

This was a newly created position created to assist with accounting functions, financial reporting and analysis and system administration. I supervised one person processing A/P and general accounting support.• Project lead for a successful ERP system implementation at a distribution center, launching the companywide conversion project. Included all aspects of gap analysis, business decisions regarding roles, processes, accounting structure and data tables, configuration, data conversion, testing, training, report writing and production oversight while also helping users cope with change and handling system defects and future enhancement requirements.• Frequently complemented on financial modeling and financial templates, going beyond the requirements.• Discovered material inventory variance which revealed employee turning in incorrect numbers in effort to enhance manufacturing yields.
