Through CMHC and the NHS, the federal government is bringing together the public, private and non-profit sectors to address affordable housing. Using a mix of funding, grants and loans, the strategy will create affordable, stable and livable communities. CMHC’s Specialists help connect non-profits, co-ops and rental housing developers to the programs and initiatives that are designed to make this happen.

Responsible for: -analyzing a range of affordable housing rezoning and development applications to support policy compliance, municipal approvals, and grants to non-profits-project managing several social housing developments on City land, including negotiating key lease terms and legal agreements, formalizing partnerships, and problem solving issues during the development process-engaging and managing key relationships with provincial government, municipal departments, community groups/partners, the development industry, and the public in policy development and delivery of affordable housing

Company: More Than A Roof Housing Society develops and manages inclusive communities of affordable housing for those affected by low to moderate incomes, those suffering with mental health issues, and those taking the bold step in addiction recovery. Position:• Member of senior leadership of growing society that provided over 600 units of affordable housing and programs for over 1,000 people (since doubled)• Responsible for all aspects of financial leadership including budgets, reporting, internal controls, and new project development• Responsible for engaging and managing key relationships with municipal and provincial government, community groups/partners, donors, staff, and union• Shared responsibility for bringing 244 units of new supportive housing online over 5 years
