I was responsable for the maintenance operations of workstations and servers that support the Geoffrey R. Weller Library and the NBCA at UNBC. I also work on projects as part of the support mechanism for the Library. Since I'm at 1 year anniversary tomorrow in this position I most certainly have learned a whole lot more about how a academic library functions. I'm responsible for 9 physical servers and 10 VM servers, our main production server is Sierra (from iii). The job also has about 35% of time support help desk related items. In this position, I'm required to be the server admin for hardware and software for both servers and workstations, lab imaging, project support and patron and staff help desk support. The one other element that I also find exciting to support and maintain is the North Archive collections which are about 15% of my overall time at this point of UNBC. - Some of the best people I ever worked with was here.
