As a part of the Marketing team, I created B2B and B2C content for EstateSales.NET, a national advertising platform with more than three million views each month. Following the company’s brand strategy, I provided the company’s very specific “voice.”

As the business and education reporter, I produced news stories for a daily print newspaper with a circulation of nearly 17,000, as well as the paper’s monthly business publication, Business Today.

As a part of the Marketing team, I managed the publicity efforts for all Press trade and regional publications in the domestic and international marketplace. I created and scheduled content for all Press social media platforms, and oversaw the development of the Press’s two annual book catalogs. I organized book exhibits, coordinating and designing advertisements, and composing publicity materials in conjunction with the exhibits.

As an acquisitions editor, I oversaw development of titles from proposal stage through transmittal to Copyediting, serving as primary contact for authors of assigned titles during the acquisitions process, and communicating with authors on the formatting and style of book manuscripts and illustrations.

In my first role at SIU Press, I assisted in the planning of university press book publications by reading, assessing, and initially screening submitted manuscripts. I reviewed and edited portions of accepted manuscripts for accuracy and conformity to House style, and recommended changes to the author or editor.
