He stood up a transformation team to reimagine the end to end future state of his operating space and recorded more than $100 million in actual savings for 2017 and 2018. He was responsible for day to day operations of the 72 million enterprise credit and debit cards; assurance of all US cash movement, delivery and availability across a fleet of 16,000 ATM’s, 5000 Financial Centers and all commercial and treasury customers. He served in several roles at Duke Energy including the company’s chief distribution officer with responsibility for leading all the company’s utility distribution assets, grid modernization, fleet vehicles and servicing. In this capacity he managed a group of over 12,000 employees and contractors to provide service and improve the relationship with the 7.2 million households and businesses. As president of Duke Energy Carolinas, serving North and South Carolina, he had P&L accountability and was responsible for advancing the company’s rates and regulatory initiatives along with managing state and local regulatory and governmental relations, economic development and community affairs. His professional experience includes banking, gas and electric utilities, consumer retail and pharmaceutical products. Carter has worked directly for CEO’s of three Fortune 250 companies and has never had a gap in employment.
