About Braden Charles Demattei

I am an aquatic ecologist who specializes in advanced statistical analysis, programming, and visualization, science communication, and fisheries biology related to management and conservation. For my master's thesis, I worked with the Scottish government to analyze how interactions between targeted and incidental-catch species may affect management of their mixed-fisheries industry. Professionally, I have aided in research regarding California Central Valley salmon population management and habitat restoration, working with a wide range of stakeholders.I am currently the lab and data manager for Deputy Director Stephanie Hampton's Lab in the Carnegie Institution for Science's Biosphere Sciences & Engineering Division in Pasadena. The Hampton Lab's focus is mainly on freshwater lake systems' productivity under winter conditions as well as zooplankton community ecology.I also have experience with management of a team in a lab setting and field work. My skills include RStudio, ArcGIS, SQL (Access), Python, and the Microsoft Suite.
