Within the Sysmex Benelux organization I represent SPECTRO Analytical Instruments in the elemental analysis division for ICP-OES, ICP-MS and XRF systems.Building professional relations with organizations that are in need of performing elemental analysis of their products for a quality insurance or academic research.Keeping in touch with my customers to see that they get all the necessary service properly. Exploring new areas in the laboratory and research departments, that could use the SPECTRO systems to fulfill there chemical analysis requests.Our partnership with Berghof-Instruments allows us to provide our customers with sample preparation equipment, such as the Microwave Digestion systems for sample destruction for chemical analysis. For industrial applications we also provide High- and Low-pressure reactors to perform chemical reactions.

Hilversum

My main tasks were performing various tests to monitor the quality of the productline, the following activities were part of my tasks:1. Sample preparation for analysis of pH, dry weight and viscosity2. Performing viscosity measruments and collecting data3. Developing and synthesizing of capsules (detergent)4. Observing capsules with microscope5. Determining particle size of the capsules with the Malvern Mastersizer MS3000

At IFF in Tilburg I was working on a project together with the ARBO to check the air quality at the production site containing higher concentrations of fragrances. The following activities were part of my research in this project:1. Sample measurment on GC-MS (also for airsamples, using a sample introduction system for tubes filled with adsorption material containing the molecules present in the air)2. Data interpretation of organic compounds present in GC-MS spectra3. Determining halogen concentrations in fragrances using a GC with an XSD detector4. Administration of collected data and reporting back to the requester

Nijmegen

Stage bij MercaChem op de afdeling Organische Chemie, onder leiding van Ellen Vonk, in de werkgroep van Johan Veerman.Uitvoeren van meerstapssynthese en parallel synthese. Producten zuiveren met behulp van kolomchromatografie op pre-packed silica kolommen. Ter analyse van de organische verbindingen werden de massa's bepaald van de verbindingen op LC-MS of GC-MS. Deze analyse werd in combinatie met proton-NMR toegepast om de organische componenten te identificeren.

Wageningen

Stage aan de Wageningen Universiteit op de afdeling Organische Chemie, onder leiding van Jaime Garcia Hartjes, in de werkgroep van dr. Tom Wennekes.Taken die centraal staan bij deze stage zijn het uitvoeren van meerstapssynthese en zuivering van (tussen)producten door middel van kolomchromatografie met een silica kolom/automatische kolom (biotage).Proton-NMR (400 MHz) en Massa Spectrum zijn analysemethoden om organische componenten te identificeren.

Naast mijn studie heb ik 12 uur per week gewerkt bij SNT als Callcenter Agent.Mijn functie bestond uit outbound bellen op verschillende projecten:- Klanten overtuigen voor een afspaak met RVS adviseur over pensioenregeling- Klanten van KPN benaderen voor aanbieding van aangepaste abonnement- Leden van FNV benaderen voor een collectieve verzekering bij zorgverzekeraar Menzis
