SQL Azure is a stateful, highly-available, fault-tolerant, multi-tenant, worldwide distributed cloud database service. It strives to bring the best of the box SQL Server product and deliver it in a hassle-free, cloud-based, highly-avaiable subscription service with offerings for customers of all types.• Directly responsible for automated workflows for server/database provisioning, cluster administration, and the infrastructure for running highly-reliable managed code in a hostile environment• Designed and implemented fault-tolerant, failover-capable, exposed-to-the-Internet web services integrated with the rest of the Azure portfolio for seamless experience• Supported the legacy (v1) database service while acting as founding member of the team building the new (v12) database service• Handled 24x7 live site support for the service through automated telemetry monitoring/alerting, synthetic workloads, on-call rotations, coordination with partner teams• Worked to decrease COGS while relentlessly improving customer SLAs
