Under a grant from the Skoll Foundation, the McCune Foundation and Alcoa Foundation I explored the concept of "social franchise" where nonprofit organizations utilize a franchise model or strategy in support of their mission.

Developed value proposition including proprietary Market Basket Analysis tool, comprehensive Pre-launch Kit, store opening system and strategic communication process. Achieved double-digit same store sales for past two years, well in excess of industry averages as well as ExxonMobil company-operated chain. Concept recognized as Convenience Store Chain of the Year for 2003 by Convenience Store Decision Magazine.
