Research in the Plant Biochemistry group at Maynooth University focuses on the role of the N-end rule protein degradation pathway in regulating biological processes including plant development and pathogen response. We utilize biochemical, genetic and molecular approaches to investigate this topic in several models including Arabidopsis thaliana and Hordeum vulgare.

As a member of the Prostate Molecular Oncology research group, my role involved providing assistance to the team where necessary including technical duties in the laboratory as well as preparation of results for publishing. I routinely carried out advanced techniques such as mammalian cell culture and flow cytometry. In particular, I was involved in a project characterising the differences between radiation sensitive and radiation resistant cells in a human prostate carcinoma model.

At Cornmarket, my primary responsibility was working in a team to manage appointment diaries for financial consultants, involving contacting clients on their behalf to make arrangements. I used general office computer programs such as Excel, Word, Access and maintained contact with clients through outgoing and incoming phone calls, email and postage.
