I am a graduate of the University of Freiburg (Germany) with a Master of Arts in European Linguistics (2017) and of the University of Wisconsin-Madison (USA) with a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction and Honors in the Liberal Arts in Linguistics and German and a certificate in European Studies (2015). I have begun to pursue a career at the intersection of linguistics, foreign policy and technology.Alongside language analysis and comparison, my research in linguistics has focused on the overlap of language and politics and includes minority language and cultural interaction in Europe, immigration, and English and German foreign language education. I have additionally had theoretical and practical experience in international relations and foreign policy.My formal language instruction includes German (C1), Turkish (OPI Advanced Low), French (intermediate), Spanish (intermediate), Portuguese (A1), American Sign Language (novice) and Yucatec Mayan (novice), and I have completed linguistic research in these and various other languages.I am currently employed as a copyeditor at the open-access scientific publisher Copernicus GmbH in Göttingen, Germany. My practical experience includes employment and internships at the U.S. Embassy in Berlin; International Academic Programs at the University of Wisconsin-Madison; Collaborative Research Centre 948 and the English Department of the University of Freiburg; the Baden-Württemberg Ministry for Science, Research and the Arts; and the Department of Germanic Linguistics at the University of Göttingen.
