• Led a small team of engineers in system engineering and detailed design of multi-device, multi-etch depth microfludic chips for single molecule manipulation and analysis of long DNA. • Optimized system and devices via lumped parameter and FE analysis. • Collaborated closely with microfab vendor to optimize design and fab process against interlaced constraints. • Designed and developed peripheral hardware including a 20 channel high voltage amplifier and manifolds for interfacing pneumatics, fluidics, sample input, and voltage to the 32 port chips. • Collaborated with scientists to design and characterize manufacturing and operation protocols for macro-to-micro sample transfer, on-chip concentration, and size-based fractionation.

• Managed a team of six researchers developing portable prototype of a fully instrumented needle-free drug delivery system. • Designed, built, and tested second generation device in less than four months, successfully demonstrating proof-of-concept in tissue samples and a live animal model.
