CurrentSki/Snowboard Salesman, Technician
CurrentMy role with Select Sports is to provide customers assistance when they are in search for ski or snowboarding equipment. This entails giving them information about product which enables them to select equipment that best suits their needs. I also am one of the shop ski/snowboard technicians. This part of the job is tuning (sharpening, waxing and repairing). This requires a high level of attention to detail as tuning determines how the equipment functions when in use.
Pdi Coordinator/Customer Service
Facility Manager, Shipping/Receiving Manager
My work at the BC Bike Race was always adapting and I was able to take on many roles. My major roles in the company were shipping and receiving and facility management. Shipping and receiving was an aspect of the job that required a high level of communication between myself and shipping companies as well as co-workers. I would need to be at the warehouse in order to receive shipments that were essential to the events put on by the BC Bike Race. Nearing the race, this job was highly important as shipments were arriving daily and they needed to be sorted and organized as fast as possible. Communicating with co-workers on which shipments belonged to them, and where they wanted their shipment to be placed was essential. Keeping organized in a relatively warehouse space with constant shipment arrivals was the challenge, and thorough communication enabled successful management. The facility management aspect when working for the BC Bike race was largely based around warehouse maintenance. Ensuring the space is clean for workers and visitor's. 2018 was the first year that staff and racers were able to come to the warehouse to check in for the event. Having the warehouse in its best shape was my responsibility. Being the facility manager I was also able to develop an inventory system for our equipment. Having over 10 departments during the event meant there was many things to differentiate and organize. Developing an organization system ensured moving out of the warehouse for the event, and moving back in to the warehouse after the event was as simple and quick as possible.
Facilitator
I have experience working in many different areas at Chicopee. In the winter I worked in the ski and snowboard rental shop. In this position I would manage the output and intake or rental equipment. From there I moved into an operations/maintenance role around the property. This position involved many forms of work from clearing out cut down trees to cleaning the chalet. In the Spring I facilitated school groups that would come visit Chicopee for a day. Throughout the summer I worked in facilitating summer camps. Both of these facilitation roles required me to look out for a group of kids and plan activities for them. Currently, I am working on designing and building a new network of bike trails on the Chicopee grounds.
