FAA System Wide Information Management (SWIM) National Airspace System (NAS) Enterprise Messaging Service (NEMS)- Lead software engineer / architect for design, development, and support of a large SOA based solution.- System incorporated Oracle’s Fusion Middleware product suite (WebLogic Server, Oracle Service Bus, Oracle Entitlements Server, Oracle Internet Directory), FUSE ESB (Apache Camel, ActiveMQ, CXF, Karaf, OSGi) and Oracle Enterprise Manager.- Subject Matter Expert on the project for Java EE, Web Services, JMS, Oracle Service Bus, WebLogic, Coherence, Camel, ActiveMQ and Servicemix.- Led the design and development of a custom WS-Security component that utilized Web Services Security for Java (WSS4J) to support the security requirements for SAML, Binary Security Token, Digital Signatures and Encryption.- Redesigned the DEX Navigator, a Java EE catalog browser / rules engine to be able to handle much larger and more complex data sets. Provided technical expertise and oversight to the development team implementing the design.- Designed and led the development of a Dynamic Subscriptions capability which utilized web services to dynamically create, renew, and delete subscriptions for receiving JMS notifications. This included a web service front end that utilized JPA backend to persist subscription information to an Oracle database. As well as a component that dynamically created and removed Camel routes at runtime.- Proposed and implemented a continuous build environment utilizing Git, Jenkins, Gerrit, and Maven to increase productivity and decrease defects by automatically building and running JUnit tests and check style analysis as part of the code check-in process. As well as online code reviews.- Utilized SCRUM agile methodologies on the program.

FAA System Wide Information Management (SWIM) National Airspace System (NAS) Enterprise Messaging Service (NEMS)- Designed and implemented a geographically distributed in memory data grid, utilizing Oracle Coherence with a push replication pattern, to propagate routing rules across the NAS for use in near real-time messaging.- Developed a JSF based cache viewer application in order to view the contents of the cache on any node in the system.- Ported data providers from C++ to java to demonstrate that Java JMS could support the performance requirements of the data providers. - Developed and demonstrated a custom content based routing plug-in for the Layer 7 Technologies XML Gateway as a proof of concept for JMS routing through an XML Gateway.- Developed silent install and configuration scripts utilizing Unix shell scripts and Jython.
