This led to a wildly successful transition for this 10,000-employee organization.

For this wholesale food manufacturer we performed an Implementation Audit of their existing HRPR and Timekeeping solutions to determine the gaps between where they actually were and where they wanted to be with their implementation. From this evaluation we worked on several projects to help them close the aforementioned gaps and improve their overall use of the Kronos systems thoughout the organization.

For these projects I played many roles over the years. In the beginning we performed an Implementation Assesment and created a project plan to deliver solutions on the findings. A strong reporting model was developed and dashboards created for them to monitor all the retail stores data in one place. After this was in place we partnered with New Seasons IT to deliver and upgrade to their Kronos software, adding new data feeds to provide more reporting data from their SQL Server, followed up with a couple of years of miscellaneous support (provided by various people at Improvizations, not just me!)

I partnered with UC Berkeley to assist in the CalTime Kronos implementation providing services to reframe the project including Project and Risk Management, development of the project and organizational Process and Procedures, Roles and Responsibilities, Solution Design and build of the Kronos Timekeeper application. In addition, I led the team providing support for the existing production Kronos applications in place. Working directly with the Steering Committe, Executive Sponsors, and the Project Management team I helped set the direction and drive the project to a sustainable momentum. Once achieved I left to let the team fly!

Primarily a Project Manager to drive the Kronos upgrade tied to a new PeopleSoft ERP implementation. I led the team to implement change, test plans, and upgrade Absence Mangement, Attendance, and various modifications to upport the change in ERP.

This assessment engagement examined basic issues regarding the ongoing implementation, recommendations for implementation best practices. The primary deliverable outlined a strict path to a successful implementation of the products across all locations within the required time and budget.

Integration with Oracle Financials, Shell Payroll and other legacy systems are a terrific challenge. I’m currently also managing the Global SAP interface development and helping to integrate their existing systems (Payroll, Labor, Performance/Review Management, Compensation Planning, etc.) into the new corporate model delivered in SAP.PeopleSoft Implementation Project ManagerThe entire conversion and implementation was completed in 3 months. Ongoing integration projects between the divisions have continued to date. Coordination and integration of the Solar divisions methods and tools with Shell Oil corporate were especially important to the project success. My group was additionally responsible for the entire conversion process from Ceridian’s HR-1, Payroll and various other legacy systems including integration with Oracle Financials.

The first six months of this government engagement developed the Concept of Operations and Standards & Procedures for the entire Applications Management Support Services (AMSS) group for Unisys’s relationship with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA.) In addition we rolled out several Java, Documentum and Oracle Teleservice 11x based products to the TSA, driving everything from infrastructure to testing though development of the support organization (AMSS.) The second half of the year involved standard project management for the Kronos rollout to the airports, solving complex issues for the team such as how to manage the relationships between various government and corporate entities and the AMSS. In addition, various group management and leadership skills were applied as team lead for the 2nd level support group for the custom and COTS applications.
