Detail-focused Design Engineer working with Airfoil Design Team based in Asheville, NC. Work closely with operations, quality, procurement, and engineering discipline subject matter experts (SMEs) to drive root cause investigations, develop associated corrective actions, and implement product and process improvements. Prepare and present status and technical content.Involved with various production support activities related to military and commercial airfoils. Identify Class II engineering change packages to improve quality, cost and producibility metrics. Participate in multi-disciplinary teams including employees from operations, quality, procurement, and engineering discipline SMEs to drive root cause investigations, develop associated corrective actions, and implement product and process improvements. Participate in Cost of Poor-Quality initiatives and producibility improvement tasks. Continue to challenge current process and procedures to identify areas for improvement. Key Responsibilities:REACTIVE· Identify best practices for defect assessment and defining “Right-size Analysis” through risk-based decision-making process. · Address time critical quality issues to support engine and module delivery. · Coordinate evaluation and response to supplier requests for information (eSRI). · Plan and manage corrective action activities that drive Quality Notifications (QN) and cost reduction. PROACTIVE· Incorporate Pro-Cert methodology and data driven decision making into Class II process. · Identify areas of waste within production support process. · Lead efforts to eliminate repeat analysis through proactively addressing repeat QNs. · Capture ESTO producibility lessons learned. · Drive continuous improvement into product development cycle and design of next generation hardware.
