As an engineering research and development scientist, I used conventional and creative approaches to develop early stage technology to help optimize breakthroughs in chemical industrial processes at a major chemical company. I unified my expertise in engineering principles, chemistry, and research, with data-driven experimental design and A/B testing, to direct progress. I led a team of eight on three concurrent projects, and built lasting relationships with them. Some key highlights of my contributions:⦁ Expedited developments by designing and building a $50,000 lab scale chemical plant that automated testing, regression, and time series analysis, and multiplied testing throughput productivity by 10.⦁ Secured research funding for two new researchers over a period of two years.

I selected a critical project that was part of a multibillion-dollar challenge in the pharmaceutical industry, during which I discovered ways to control the formation of crystals and glasses trapped in ultra-small spaces. I explored the nexus of materials science, applied mathematics and polymer chemistry, creating a predictive model to fabricate copolymer materials with specific morphologies.
