I got hit by lightning in an airplane as a kid. (Ok, that didn't really happen, but it felt like a bolt of electricity hit me the moment we took off, and I knew I was hooked.)I don't ever remember when I didn't want to be a pilot, and in my senior year of high school, I began my aviation journey. I had always dreamed of someday opening a small flight school and sharing my passion for flying with others. Since those early moments of daydreaming about a flying school, I found my second love: technology. Tech was equally amazing, and I had the privilege of watching and helping the internet evolve from the time of Mosaic into what ultimately became the information superhighway.But the sky kept calling, and I couldn't relinquish that dream I had so many years ago... In 2020, I was fortunate enough to be able to retire early, and quickly realizing I was bored and making my family nuts, I dusted off my old business plans, took a huge leap of faith, and started a flight school in Southern, NJ, just outside of Philadelphia. I chose the name Beyond Aviation as my goal was to build a community of young people and adults with an interest and passion for aviation, the sciences, and technology. The idea is that we would go "beyond aviation" and inspire the next generation of aviators and lovers of science, technology, and math. It's been one hell of a ride, and I have been lucky beyond my wildest dreams....
