For over a year now I have been privileged to be part of 197 Squadron in Acton ON as an Officer Cadet on a part time evening/weekend basis. This role plays a large part in the growth and development of our young people, the opportunity to impact our youth in a positive environment is very rewarding. Being able to represent the RCAC by wearing the uniform of the RCAF is something I am extremely proud of, then to be able to show that pride to our Cadets and see them exhibit the same pride when they are wearing theirs.

For 20 years I have been involved in all aspects of Volunteer positions at road and street circuits throughout Canada/US and England. I started as a flagger and communicator and for the past 7 years I have been a Chief Course Marshall (Flag Chief) at CTMP (Mosport) as well as a Sector Chief at the Grand Prix of Houston in 2013. I have also been a Chief Communicator for Indy Car at Toronto, Mid Ohio and Baltimore races as well as Pro and Regional events at CTMP. The most challenging position I have had and the one I enjoy the most is working as Chief or Secondary Communicator at various street circuits for Indy Car and their ladder series. The changing environment provided with a temporary circuit is exciting and challenging at the same time, you receive a great sense of accomplishment by contributing to the success of one of these events.

Working with FLS gives me the opportunity to provide a positive impact on customers by leveraging the experience and determination of the Milton office to exemplify excellent customer service. With a fresh outlook on an industry in need of new ideas and aggressive thinking I know this change will allow personal and professional growth. • Daily dispatch of multiple loads to carriers, rate negotiations, tracing and resolving rate or service issues.• Delivering superior customer service through complete accountability and clear, concise timely communication. Offer customers and sales team alternatives to realize cost savings and improved service.• Mentoring Junior Dispatchers and assist the sales team in a better understanding of the logistics environment. Provide costing to sales team based on current market conditions and pricing of difficult lanes as well as specialized equipment.

• Establish new and grow existing relationships with domestic and US carriers• Maintain carrier database with regards to ISO 9001 quality standards and C-TPAT regulations.• Daily on-demand pricing, rate negotiations as well as obtain FAK rates for domestic, cross border and US to US based carriers.• Extensive use of AS400 database, Loadlink, PC Miler and Sharepoint• Establish “Top 20” partner carriers with monthly dashboard showing metrics and quality issues.

Coordinate shipments for a variety of customers utilizing all modes of transportation, greater emphasis on Ocean and Air shipments as an expanding area for the company. Main focus was to grow customer and supplier relationships with a greater understanding of diverse needs in a challenging economy.Responsible for leading a team of 8 load coordinators that were responsible for liquid and dry bulk commodity shipments and 3PL customers. I enjoyed encouraging development and growth with the team while growing within this role myself.
