Many things can be experienced through the Internet, in print, by writing, with a photograph, and then there are those things that must be connected to first-hand, video or audio, but best in-person. One of those things would be me. I’m eclectic, elegantly educated, exceptionally experienced, and excellent at many things, especially adept at analysis. I'm naturally analytic - often do it without thinking, sometimes without realizing I’m even doing it. Expert at expressing material in a way that those I explain it to grasp the concepts they need to understand - to plan strategically, implement tactically, and achieve well-measured goals, regardless of the topic they have asked about or the task they have set out to accomplish. A Renaissance soul, I have many interests, but at the moment I’m focusing in on the expansive meanings and the essential aspects of health, in keeping with so much of my training. Let’s talk about the health of the planet, the sustainability of business, corporate responsibility, the nature of work, our toxic environment, how all of that affects you – how you can cope? Studying something, gathering data, assembling information, analyzing it all and pulling it together so it can be understood in natural language terms. Key to working with me: be honest, open, and willing, to say what needs to be said, tell what needs to be heard, and do what needs to be done to accomplish your goals. My clients tend to be high-level, fast-paced, stressed, in need of clarity and a plan, whether they work alone, work for another, or have others work for them. Pretty much anyone who needs to get things done, but are distracted by all the noise that keeps them from doing it. Could that be you? Are you in your own way? Having trouble implementing your life plan? Not sure of you have a life plan? Then talk to me, we’ll make a map, and clear a path...

Executive DirectorThe Interactive Museum Jan 2010 - Jun 201123 Center Street, Middletown, Ny 10940The idea for a museum of science and the arts came about through a brainstorm by a friend of mine, Ed Silvers, back in 1996. Two years later, he had assembled a group of benefactors and investors who set up the museum charter and non-profit status. Five years after that, the Interactive Museum was granted a lease on a small building in downtown Middletown New York. For years, it's been open intermittently, serving as both an educational and community space as well as a fun place to be, "for children of all ages," which most think means just little ones, but adults come for the programs too. The building sadly reached the limits of its usefulness, and closed in the summer of 2014. Many people are mobile, tend to have little time to volunteer in situations with time constraints and other limitations, and in the current economy, lack the resources to spare to help any institution that does not provide essential services to survive. The Museum ran out of funding and community support, and the Board closed it and disbanded in December 2011.

Legal AssistantMark A Fisher Attorney-At-Law Nov 2002 - Dec 2010Middletown, NyThis position was very executive, hands-on, and personally interactive, as I was the front end of the office and first point of contact. Responsibility for all office interactions was primarily mine; your experience and file started with me, whether you walked in or called on the phone. I managed clients and cases from intake to completion, providing all the support services and paperwork required for whatever kind of case it was. Keeping case files organized and flowing through the appropriate systems was my job for half the time, until we hired someone else to do data entry and filing. Interacting directly with judges, court clerks, other chambers personnel, other attorneys, and a variety of other legal and non-legal service providers was an essential part of my day. In addition to the legal supporting work, I leveraged my personal network to direct clients to other resources that they might need, including government and private social services. Throughout the time I was there, I reorganized office processes and systems, including automating file completion, to more efficiently serve clients and facilitate work flow. Over time, I learned to conduct legal research, using Lexis/Nexis and any other means to prepare reports, motions, and other information based on that research for a variety of matters for both the attorney and clients. In many ways, I was an executive assistant as well as a paralegal and legal secretary, making sure dates were properly set up on the calendar and that the attorney knew where he was supposed to be and when he was supposed to be there. Firm name was previously Mark a Fisher PLLC.

User Services ConsultantColumbia University Mailman School Of Public Health Feb 1999 - Oct 2002Greater New York City AreaDuring my time at Mailman, I successfully reorganized information technology services for the School of Public Health, starting with about 400 employees in a population that grew to almost 1,000 at more than 23 different sites throughout upper Manhattan. Directly reporting to the Dean of Administration, who was also the COO, I worked with professors, researchers, directors and managers, helping them to determine technology needs and keeping equipment and systems updated and at peak performance. I also facilitated support and repair contracts, and acted as project manager on several office technology updates, several research projects that required input from the Dean's office, as well as redesign of the web site. I left to focus on my doctoral work, research, teaching, and consulting. Spent lots of face time, traveling from one of the many sites to another, negotiating among the various stakeholders, making recommendations for final action by the dean, ensuring that the facilities of the school stayed secure and current.
