  I divide my time between two institutes at the Agency of Science, Technology and Research. My primary appointment is with the Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC), where I collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to build synergistic bridges between AI and social science. My work here spans two key directions:Applying AI to the study of social science phenomena: - Developing large language model (LLM) pipelines to collect and analyse qualitative data at scale.- Creating natural language processing (NLP) tools to examine social media discourse during salient events.Applying Social Science principles to guide the development of AI systems:- Drawing inspiration from computational models of cognition to develop probabilistic deep learning methods for predicting human actions from videos. I also hold a joint appointment with the Bioinformatics Institute (BII), where I study the physics of machine learning and the application of physical principles to machine learning optimisation.
