Responsible for managing major departmental projects, supervising professional staff, and participating in the overall management and administration of the Community Services Department. Oversee the Old Town Temecula Community Theater; Temecula Valley Museum; Pennypickle's Workshop (Temecula Children's Museum); and all Arts, Culture, and Entertainment Programs and Events for the City of Temecula. Manage the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for all of the City of Temecula's Arts, Culture, and Entertainment. Plan, organize, manage, supervise, and coordinate cultural arts programs, services, and special events; develop a broad range of community services programs and activities. Provide direct supervision to professional staff; plan, organize, and evaluate the work of assigned personnel; coach, motivate, mentor, and train staff. Manage and oversee departmental projects including facility renovations, park development, and other capital improvements; review, develop, negotiate, and manage contracts and agreements with consultants and third party vendors; coordinate projects with other City departments, governmental agencies, and private organizations. Promote, publicize, organize, and direct Citywide cultural events and activities. Participate in departmental planning, training and budget preparation; monitor and approve expenditures; prepare revenue and expenditure reports. Conduct research and analysis for departmental projects and programs; prepare a variety of reports, recommendations, and correspondence; formulate and present proposals and recommendations. Serve as department liaison with the community, advisory committees, professional organizations, and local, state and federal agencies; represent the City at meetings and special events; serves as cultural arts consultant to staff and local organizations within the community. Serve as staff to the Community Services Commission.
