Working in the Trace Metals Lab doing Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectroscopy (ICP-MS).• Perform confirmatory testing on client samples, quality control samples and proficiency samples making measurements and calculations through the use of Inductively Coupled Plasma – Mass Spectroscopy. Verifies and releases assay batches performed by other technologists to ensure accuracy and accountability. • Maintains, calibrates, and cleans instrumentation; perform scheduled and as needed maintenance and critical function checks recognizing significant changes in instrument function; trouble shoot as indicated.• Prepare laboratory reagents and standard solutions; adhere to the SOP; perform initial testing at times; accurately pipette samples; maintain laboratory records, maintenance logs, quality control charts, reagent and standard logs, and worksheets.

Specimen receiving, data entry, and specimen prepping in an FDA regulated environment including specimen evaluation and processing based on standard operating procedures.• Entering information and test orders into the computer, operates data entry terminals and automated data systems, that follows standard sequences/coding when entering data and corrects, edits, and/or verifies data entered into automated systems.• Manages and resolves problem samples, must be able to perform eSIS audits to resolve any outstanding problems, verifies and checks volume of specimens prior of testing. • Performs all paperwork, technical and non-technical procedures required to process and submit specimens. • Accurately and completely accessions specimens following departmental guidelines, SOP’s, and expected time frames.
