About Brian Middleton, M.Ed., Bcba, Lba

I have many years of experience in customer service and training environments. With two teaching degrees & certifications, one in K-12 Special Education, the other in Secondary Education focusing on History, Economics, Political Science, Geography, and Sociology, as well as having a Master's of Education, with Administrative Endorsement, I have the education needed for my profession, but I pride myself more in the knowledge and skills I have gained from by working experience. I am always looking for new knowledge and understanding too. Education is a mindset, after all. I am currently teaching Special Education for Iron County School District at Canyon View Middle as a behavior special education teacher and love it! One thing that uniquely qualifies me for being a behavior specialist is that I was misdiagnosed as having Non-verbal Learning Disorder at the age of 12. As an adult that was corrected to high functioning autism (formerly Aspergers Syndrome). I am currently pursuing licensure in Applied Behavior Analysis so that I can better serve my students and school. I graduated from University of Cincinnati with a post-Masters Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis. Next is to finish supervision and sit for the BIG Exam. In the meantime, I am studying and utilizing my skills as a teacher by creating learning opportunities for everyone to better understand behavior analysis via my social media pages under the name the Bearded Behaviorist. So far I have been able to produce some great educational content as well as make learning about behavior analysis and its related sciences more fun and interesting. I am on all social media platforms from LinkedIn to Minds.com and everything in between.
