Efficiency Capital (EC) is an investor and developer of energy efficiency projects. The Atmospheric Fund (TAF), an arms-length agency of the City of Toronto, incubated EC to pioneer an innovative financing approach, enabling building owners to execute deep energy efficiency retrofit projects with no working capital deployment.EC works with commercial, industrial, and multi-residential building owners to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve asset values by funding, developing and managing performance-guaranteed, energy efficiency upgrades. Together, TAF and EC have invested in over 55 retrofit installations that will generate savings of 50M kWh of electricity, 20M m3 of natural gas, 2B litres of water, and reductions of 25 Kt of greenhouse gas emissions over their lifetime.
