I care about the environment, economy and future of our children. Mitigating climate change and translating sustainable development into a de facto norm are goals worth concentrating on. I spent the last decade in the fields of international governance, political economy and law with two goals in mind: identifying barriers we face in the implementation of sustainable development and finding systemic solutions to overcome these challenges together. What I enjoy most is supporting groups with diverse backgrounds in:- finding clarity on their different perspectives, needs and capacities; and - reaching consensus for partnerships towards achieving a common goal. Much of my academic and policy-oriented path lead me to international negotiations on trade and environmental law, and sifting through legislations, policy implementations and disputes in the context of large-scale investments. I started out in NGO advocacy settings, before taking a position with the EU Commission, working on the EU-South Korea FTA. As graduate student, I joined the International Institute for Sustainable Development. I attend many international environmental negotiations and science-policy conferences, where I learn from key actors about latest scientific findings, new ideas and initiatives to move us forward.I believe in transformative change. Transformative change necessitates innovative thinking, which stems from many sources and requires effective communication at the right time between the right people. Finding these seeds and nurturing them, whether in academic, government or non-government settings, in our local or global community is what I focus on.I feel at home with smart and creative people that share my passion to engage in mission-driven work. My second home are the outdoors. Waking up after a night spent in the redwoods, hiking or mountain biking the Alps are urges I frequently indulge in.
