I am a passionate cellular and molecular scientist with a special interest in biomedical research. During my studies so far, I have acquired a broad range of expertise in various fields, especially in molecular biology, biochemistry and cell culture. I was able to uncover novel signaling pathways in primary human pericytes and (primary) human glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) cells. This allowed me to identify potential therapeutic anti-angiogenic and anti-carcinogenic targets. As a postgraduate fellow (with a PhD pending in summer 2022) at Yale, I am establishing a disease model for cerebral cavernous malformations. For this purpose, I use CRISPR/Cas9 and lentiviral transfection to edit the genome of induced human pluipotent stem cells (ihPSC). I think it is obvious that I have a passion for genomics, proteomics and signaling pathways. Most importantly, I am motivated by the idea of taking my research to the patient and as a scientist I want to drive research at this interface of lab and clinic. Have I piqued your interest?
