Where do we begin?My experience in managerial roles precedes to my days of A-Levels. Being by a hot grill whilst ensuring everything runs smoothly at McDonald’s isn’t for the faint hearted. On the contrary, it boosted my work ethic and made me always achieve to the best of my ability, especially being a crew trainer/manager, it developed my leaderships skills whilst gently combining it with how I work in a team, I had so many of my colleagues all doing the same thing meaning you could learn and adapt so much more efficiently. Then, I kick started my corporate career at Blocc Interiors, I know I may seem biased as I still work there, but each component of the business is strong and it drives you to become better for those you work with and the pieces of experience from sales to accounts expands your horizons and understanding. I adapted very quick and learned most of my organisation whilst building on: my emotional intelligence, how to make communication effective, professionalism and how to make working life enjoyable for yourself, and I can ensure you that’s me not being biased!I worked within software for a time, but I didn’t meet my own personal expectations and I was aware i needed to expand my education; walk before you run comes into mind. Some may see it as a back pedal, but to acknowledge where you aren’t growing and being able to take it as motivation is a key quality I prioritise for myself. My time to flourish within this field is a process and I’m willing to take all the steps that are required. Blocc has gave me the confidence to be assured in myself and trust my hard thought decisions. Whilst working a 5 day week, I find a way to continue my honours degree in computer science and software. To feed myself with knowledge and being able to bloom in a job role I thoroughly enjoy, is the reward I will always honour. I still have time to fit in my netball, book club and my guilty pleasure… quizzes with my grandad!I’ve never been shy of work and I cannot wait for the journey. I didn’t know where to begin but I know where I would like to end.
