About Béatrice Frey-Obolsky

As a strategic thinker with strong expertise in digital communications, I am passionate about equal rights and opportunities for the most vulnerable. I currently lead UNHCR’s Global Social Media Team, where I oversee strategy, policy, content, partnerships and training. I spearhead a high-performing team of made-for-social content producers and experts in creative campaigns, leadership social and capacity-building, based across multiple timezones. Before joining UNHCR, I built UN Women’s social media presence from the very beginning, leading their team for more than a decade, and was the head of digital communications at UN Peacekeeping. Fluent in English, French, German and Spanish and a student of Arabic, I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to elevate the voices of those forced to flee, and to provide our UNHCR social media platforms to amazingly brave refugees to tell their own stories.Follow me on X @BeaFrey.
