About Beatrice Meloni
Currently PhD candidate in Urban Planning, Design and Policy at the Deparment of Architecture and Urban Studies (DASTU), Politecnico di Milano. With my research, I investigate the conditions that determine housing accessibility for the migrant population in European cities, looking at the interconnections between housing issues and migration phenomena from a class perspective. Master of Advanced Studies in Urban Design at ETH Zurich, with a focus on inclusive urbanism, cities and migration that led to the publication of the book “Migrant Marseille Architecture of social segregation and Urban Inclusivity”. Master in Architecture at Politecnico di Torino. Two years of work experience as architect and urban designer in Zurich, focusing on masterplans and feasibility studies and successfully winning two first prizes and one second prize in architectural competitions. Three years of work experience in architecture and landscape firms in Italy. I strongly believe in the importance of multidisciplinarity and the interdependence of research, practice and engagement.
