Directs activities and operations of the Bryan + College Station Public Library System that includes the Clara B. Mounce Public Library, the Larry J. Ringer Public Library and the Carnegie History Center. Plans, organizes and directs all activities concerned with administration and operation of the library system. Advises City Management regarding the maintenance and improvement of municipal library system. Develops and implements policies, procedures, and standards for efficient and effective operation and maintenance of department operations. As a Young Adult Librarian, I was very instrumental and hands-on in the day-to-day operation and services to youth ages twelve to eighteen. I planned and coordinated young adult programs, including readers’ advisory, reference, reading lists, aids, and other brochures in print, online, and display. I developed a highly visible public relations program for young adult services in the community and identified and provided services to meet curriculum needs in the community. I worked cooperatively with local schools and community organizations, organized and coordinated youth volunteer program (TAG) as library advocates. I assisted in recommendation of library material for inclusion in young adult collection, promoted a love of reading and enjoyment of books to the community, library, and customers; as well as developed interactive community relationships and implemented activities to stimulate use of the library’s resources by schools and agencies that serve young adults.
