As a co-founder, researcher and (social) media director; my role at COVIData ranged from supporting with the connections with key stakeholders who could finance the project, give interviews and participate in podcasts to raise awareness of the platform and also of COVID-19 prevention. I also worked on the social medias (Instagram, Facebook) and in internal communication to UFABC University society, in order to share real-time information on COVID-19 and all around it (fake news, vaccines, guidelines, etc.) and also created content for our marketing campaigns. Lastly, I was in charge, with Pr. Dr. Fernanda Almeida, of written COVIData white papers and articles, published in renowned scientific journals. The high speed spread of SARS-CoV-2 trough out the entire globe has ignited the warning about the importance and need to collect data from patients possibly infected, on a massive scale, in order to understand spreading dynamics of this particular disease. Having stated that, students of UFABC university developed the web platform COVIData, while in partnership with Inter-municipalConsortium of ABC, resulting in a tool directed to people’ self-screening their symptoms and being able to have and immediate identification of whether they are or not possibly infected. with next-steps to be taken. Paired with my studies at UFABC, I was an athletic cheerleader for both their women and co-ed (men/women) groups, joining many championships and being finalist (#2, #2, #1) in the years our group competed representing UFABC on the Brazilian Cheerleader Competition. This experience required acting as role models for our university, building up strong leadership skills as well as comfort level with public speaking and be able to interact with crowds. Other than this, it enhanced certain soft skills such as working well in a team environment and being able to communicate effectively with their teammates, as well as increasing focus, determination and helping to perform under pressure circumstances and hold a positive attitude.
